Works
The works of Shachar Neuhaus and Ariel Gil Greenwald, presented in the exhibition Green Forest, New Home, curated by Shachar Yahalom, are rooted in their family histories, reflected in their names, and lead us toward another place—an existing land whose designation as “other” opens onto an almost mythical space.
This space emerges from a personal point of departure, yet quickly moves beyond the boundaries of biography. Here, every action is open to question, and the illusion of the “other” is constructed not as a destination, but as a useful fiction. This fiction enables an artistic act that responds to the impasse between personal pain and a given reality. It is an act that does not flee from pain, but inscribes it into material, claims space through it, and insists on transforming helplessness into movement, however slight.
